Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to bring cheers to millions of farmers across India! On June 18th, 2024, PM Modi will be visiting Varanasi to release the 17th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. This translates to a whopping ₹20,000 crore being directly transferred to the bank accounts of eligible farmers.

This announcement was made by Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, during a press conference today.

  • ₹2,000 deposited directly: This is a fantastic benefit for farmers registered under PM-KISAN. Every beneficiary will receive ₹2,000 deposited into their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.
  • Varanasi witnesses the release: Mark your calendars for June 18th! Prime Minister Modi will be in Varanasi to symbolically launch the disbursement process.
  • Krishi Sakhis recognized: Adding to the celebrations, PM Modi will also be presenting certificates to over 30,000 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) recognized as Krishi Sakhis. This is a great recognition for their contribution to the agriculture sector.
